PRICE LIST

Private or Corporate Performances – Pricing will vary based on available dancers / artists for your event day/time. Range for Solo (1 dancer): $140 - $150.00; Group: $165 - $400.00; Intermediate to Professional level Bollywood dancers can perform at private functions such as weddings, parties, corporate events, etc. Beginner level student performances can be arranged for $50.00. Pricing is per dance item/routine performed routines can last anywhere from 4 – 7 minutes.

 

Open Public Performances (non-ticketed, non-'invite only', free events) – Professional dancers, and intermediate to advanced students can perform at regular performance rates – Solo: $130. Group: $155 for up to 3 dancers & additional $20 for each additional available dancer. Beginner level student performances can be arranged for $50.00. Pricing is per dance item/routine performed. These events included fundraising events, public receptions, civic events, charitable events, etc. We support non-profits and charities and can discuss honorariums.

 

Customized Classes, Workshops, Performances or Demonstrations – Pricing will vary. Classes can be offered externally to schools and businesses who want to offer a fun cultural learning experience to their students, clients, or employees. --Please inquire about the Beyond Bollywood - South Asian Dance Workshop for schools by Ashley Anjlien Kumar.

 

Dancers for stage shows, films, television and print advertising – Pricing will vary.

 

Recreational / Social Workshop or Class  - $20/person/hour (minimum 3 people) or $10/person/half hour (minimum 8 people). An instructor can teach a class for stagette parties, birthday parties, corporate team-building events, etc.

 

Private Choreography – Pricing will vary based on the instructor available. Range is Solo: $35-40/hour. Group: $20-25/person/hour. This service is often utilised by groups or individuals looking to perform at a specific event including weddings.

 

Bollywood Dance-Fitness and Bhangra Dance-Fitness – these unique classes are offered by SAAM’s partner companies. Pricing ranges from $12/person to $20/person.

WHY BOOK WITH SAAM? 

The South Asian Arts Movement Society, is a community based non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Ashley Anjlien Kumar. The organization’s main focus is to provide South Asian Performing Arts lessons and performances. SAAM also acts as a Managing Agent for autonomous individual Artists and Artistic Groups.

 

SAAM has participated in many events and programs across Canada. A few of these are listed below, along with a few of our achievements.

 

Conducted 15 independent dance productions since 2007.

  • Participation in various Edmonton Festivals.

  • Performances for various charities & non-profit organizations.

· Choreography and participation in the short film Breakout of the Masala Kid and 2 other music videos.

·  Dance workshops for students at public, private and Catholic schools in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

· Gold medal winners at various National Dance Competitions.

· Artistic collaborations with musician Mark Edwards and Visual Media artist Don Bouzek.

  • Instructor Recipient of the EAC 2011 Cultural Diversity in the Arts award.

  • Instructor Recipient of the EAC 2013 and 2014 CIP Travel Grant for Kathak dance studies

  • Artistic Director is Recipient of Avenue Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 award.

 

Classes & Workshops in the following dance styles are available:

 

  • Kathak (North Indian classical)

  • Bhangra Fusion (Contemporary style Punjabi folk)

  • Bollywood (modern Indian)
